TMS Wraps, a division of The Media Shack, needed a website where potential clients could go to view the companies services and processes.
In order to keep the viewers engaged, I used motion, in the form of a video, on the landing page.
To keep the theme of movement, I created unique animated icons using Blender (an open-source 3D application) for each of their services. Each icon represented the TMS process: design, printing, and application processes.
The brief was to create a showpiece proposal, to show the work that the FNB CSI fund is doing. We were required to strategize and design a website and intranet page for our proposal.
Conceptual strategy
The idea behind our strategy was to move away from a cold, corporate feel, and to use a warm and engaging theme. Human connection was the overarching theme. We encouraged interaction between staff by making all content shareable. We also added a sign-up sheet, so that staff members and clients could view all up-coming CSI events.
Visual approach
Hands locking, or touching is the universal symbol for hope and help. We wanted to show this with our visual elements, using video, gifs, and images, we aimed to create that feeling in our designs.
To create awareness and generate traffic to the website and intranet page, we created a banner for the FNB website and intranet. This prompted staff to visit the Intranet page and the clients to view the CSI website.
FNB CSI webpage proposal walkthrough
1.
The FNB CSI webpage proposal starts with a video landing page, the visual shows people greeting each other, which speaks to our theme of helping hands.
2.
The video shows the approach and then brief stats as you scroll down.
3.
The video also shows the different sectors FNB’s CSI projects have helped. This part of the video is a scroll wheel.
4.
The video ends with the ‘Where we are helping’ section. This is where the image, gif, video, and audio content will be located. It also has a social media sharing section and a filtered search function.
FNB CSI Intranet page proposal strip
The intranet page follows the same format as the public website, the only difference is that its adapted to suit the FNB internal CI. The page encourages volunteers and acts as a central port for FNB’s countless CSI’s, which makes it easier for staff to learn about the CSI’s.
A website form where staff can add their details when volunteering for one of FNBs initiatives.

Sukuma Arts & Culture
Sukuma Arts & Culture is an events company, that supports the local traditional entertainment industry in Mombeni, KZN.
Logo redesign
I redesigned Sukuma’s logo, to better suit digital platforms. The logo is inspired by the traditional Zulu earing, Isiqhaza. Isiqhaza, is a wooden, and has blocked out basic shapes, that are filled with traditional colours.
Web design
The website is a custom, dynamic platform derived from a static HTML template. I further developed it, to enabl the user to store articles for Sukuma events in a database by the use of PHP and mySQL.

Logo redesign and website favicon:
Custom designed icons for all the different product offerings by Lovett:
Web design
I wanted to make the website friendly and informative. I used icons and information on the landing page, so the user can easily access what they are looking for.
Through the use of DIY videos, the visitor retention rate of the website increases.
Senzokuhle, an NGO in Georgedale KZN, help the community by giving to needy. I offered to design their logo and website.
Logo design
The client wanted something that spoke to the act of giving and care. This is where I got my inspiration: hands that are giving.
I created their website and logo from scratch, for my collage practical assignment. The website is fully responsive, I used Media Queries to achieve this.
Through Media Queries, the navigation changes and introduces icons for easy navigation.
Grumpy, a social media app allows people to voice their complaints and vent their anger. My task was to create a logo, design a mock-up of the user interface, and design emoticons that will be used to express their angry emotions.
Logo design
I presented the client with a few logo options. They were fixated on the ‘G’ character for the logo. The logo shows anger and communicates a clean corporate style that translates well for the target audience.
UI design
The UI design is simple, because no one wants to pester an already upset user with complicated designs.
Emoji design
All the emojis are upset. This helps users express their feelings. I had to design different emojis to express different feelings, including anger, dissatisfaction, confusion, and sadness.
